54th birthday in Gothenburg

Believe it or not, this is one of the few times I have celebrated my birthday in Sweden and together with my husband. He is normally on the glacier trip to Vatnajökull this time of year, while I tend to spend my birthday in Denmark with family and friends. However, Erik gave up his seat on the trip to his colleague, Halldór Geirsson this year. So many wanted to go and Halldór hadn’t been on the JÖRFÍ trip before, while Erik has taken part in it perhaps 15-20 times. Instead, he invited me on a romantic lunch at the top floor restaurant Heaven 23 in the Gothia Tower. Really nice food and an amazing view from up there! We can highly recommend it. Later in the afternoon, we had Swedish ‘fika’ and ‘fikabröd’ (and singing) with Erik’s colleagues at work. Finally, in the evening we had our friend Lina Rasmusson joining us for champagne and French cheeses. Maybe some Italian, too. The weather was glorious sunshine 🙂
