Barbara & Ed wedding

Finally the wedding we have been waiting for and longing to for more than a year. Originally scheduled for last year, but due to covid-19 postponed to July this summer. Our friends and colleagues, Barbara Irene Kleine and Edward Wayne Marshall IV (Barbara and Ed) got married yesterday in the Selfoss Church in Southern Iceland. I can’t imagine a more romantic wedding than this! The wedding ceremony was a combination of Icelandic Lutherian with Quakerism, which Ed belongs to and the Catholic traditions, which Barbara is part of. It was also a combination of American and German traditions, mixed with the Icelandic in the best possible way. Even the weather was amazing on this glorious day and blessed the newly-wed couple. The first real summer day in this part of Iceland. The reception and dinner took place at Vatnsholt, and what a party it was! For many of us, this was the first party we have been to since the beginning of the pandemic. I think this is also why we were all so happy. It was just great to celebrate and share this happy occasion with friends. All our love and best wishes for the future for Barbara and Ed!
