Family Kløve Keiding

Our Danish friends, Marie and Jakob Kløve Keiding and their three children Simon, Rasmus, and Frida came to visit us in Gothenburg for a couple of days. We know Marie and Jakob from Iceland, where we all worked at the Institute of Earth Sciences, University of Iceland. Marie, Jakob, and Erik were all affiliated to the Nordic Volcanological Center (NordVulk) at the time. Erik as senior scientist, Marie as PhD student, and Jakob as a post doc. At the end of my PhD in Iceland, I was affiliated to NordVulk, too. When I moved to Iceland in 2007, Marie thought we should have a welcome party and convinced Erik to host the party in his apartment on Blómvallagata. This is where Erik and I met and soon after started dating each other and finally got married in 2009. Thus, we owe Marie many thanks for bringing us together! The good thing about visitors is that you start to explore your own city. Marie encouraged us to visit the temporary Banksy exhibition in Eriksbergshallen. This was indeed fascinating to see! Prior to this exhibition, I had no idea that it’s possible to express yourself so well through grafitti or street art. The following day, we went to the newly renovated Sjöfartsmuseet & Akvariet. So much information that you had to skip parts of it, but Erik and I invested in a museum access card that allows us entrance for the rest of the year. Great to have a house that can accommodate a family of five. The combination of kids and dogs worked pretty well, too.
