Glitnir 12 years

Our oldest dog Glitnir is now like a good single malt whiskey – 12 years old. Smooth collies originate from Scotland, originally herding dogs, but nowadays more commonly used as pets and for obedience and agility sports. Glitnir has mainly been a good companion and a fieldwork dog her whole life. She has travelled with us to northern Sweden, to the US and to Iceland, and she has walked many km up and down cliffs and mountains without ever getting tired. Her health has been extraordinarily good and only in recent years has she had health issues. We can see that she is not so eager to go on long walks anymore, but nothing wrong with her appetite. She adores food and would eat anything she comes across. Two of the dogs she grew up with in Gothenburg, and of the same age, are still alive. One of them is the labrador Nelson belonging to my friend Laura Geisler. Hence, on her birthday we took these oldies on a nice walk in Gothenburg with lots of treats (Nelson loves food, too).
