Happy New Year
Thank God for Lena and Calle, and the home of theirs in the woods – far from fireworks. Luckily, just like old days before I moved to Iceland, we could celebrate New Year’s eve with Lena and Calle again. Our oldest dog, Glitnir is super afraid of fireworks and has had a tough time those years we lived in Iceland. They go almost berserk in fireworks in Iceland during New Year. You have to leave town (Reykjavík) for at least a week with a dog like that, but even the following months are tough as people keep on shooting as long as they have fireworks stored at home. In Sweden, one night out of town (Gothenburg) is enough. Lena and Calle made an excellent dinner with among others lobsters, deer, and home-made ice-cream. At midnight, we could welcome a new, and hopefully brighter, year and be relieved to have made it through this strange year of 2020. A nice long walk in the woods the next morning was an excellent way to start the new year. However, trying to capture all four dogs on one picture was a challenge. Hopefully less challenging for Lena to take some New Year photos of us.
