Visit from Australia

Two years after we went to Australia to meet Erik’s relatives in Melbourne, Erik’s half-sister Pip, husband Mal and children, Lucas, Felicity and Tom came to visit us in Iceland and in Sweden. We were really happy they decided to travel half across the world to come to a slightly smaller island in the North Atlantic. Luckily, weather was pretty good during their stay here and we could go one day to beautiful Lannmannalaugar and they could go one day riding Icelandic horses on the south coast.

After their stay with us in Reykjavík, we met again in Stockholm in Sweden. This time the purpose was to meet Erik’s father Carl-Edvard in Katrineholm, who of course was very curious to meet some of Erik’s biological relatives. As Pip told us, Erik in fact resembles in many ways their biological father Donald John Cant.

Carl-Edvard invited us all to a very nice lunch at Julitagård, where his grandfather Edvard Tillander was the estate manager. Again, we were extremely lucky with the weather and had a beautiful sunny day in Swedish Sörmland. This is Sweden when it’s best. It’s like taken out of a fairytale.
