3rd year funding from NAPA

We are really grateful for being granted a third year of funding to our NAPA project ‘The Ikaite columns – past and future, and prospects in a changing Arctic 2022 – 2025’. The third year marks the final activities of this project that started in summer of 2022 and ends by September 2025. As part of the 2nd year, the plan is to carry out fieldwork in Ikka Fjord in just a few weeks’ time to study the changes in biodiversity on the enigmatic ikaite columns of Ikka Fjord. The third year is mainly allocated to analysis of the materials collected during fieldwork this summer and of wrapping up the results in papers, reports, and public presentations.
