IKKA expedition 2025

Time to present the participants of the IKKA expedition 2025 heading to Ikka Fjord in SW Greenland in June 2025. We are six scientists this year plus Kunuk Albrechtsen from Arsuk aiding us again. There will be three different research projects covered this year of which at least two requires diving. Therefore, we are happy to have Vivien Hotter, a marine biologist and scientific diver joining our team. The whole team consists of:

Gabrielle Stockmann, geologist, leading the NAPA project

Paul Seaman, geophysicist, will aid with diving and carrying out CTD measurements

Erik Trampe, microbiologist, logistics and safety, and studies of bacteria from ikaite columns

Florian Huber, marine archaeologist, scientific diver and underwater photographer (cover photo by Florian, 2024)

Vivien Hotter, marine biologist and scientific diver, project on aquatic and terrestrial algae

Martin Wooster, Professor at King’s College London, studies on changes to seawater temperature over time through satellite data
