Ikkaton CCUS funding

Thanks to two successful applications, the Ikkaton – Climate Solutions Aps company has now secured funding for two separate CCUS projects. One Grand Solutions of approximately 18 million Danish kroner from the Innovation Fund Denmark (https://innovationsfonden.dk/en), and another grant of approximately nine million Danish kroner from INNO-CCUS (https://inno-ccus.dk). The projects have a duration of 2-3 years, starting in May 2026, with the aim to build a pilot plant that will test the capturing of CO2 gas. Using the Ikkaton industrial method, the CO2 will be converted into the mineral ikaite, and from ikaite into calcium carbonate powder through heating. Thanks to excellent collaboration with Klimafonden Skive in Jutland (DK), the goal is to use a factory near Skive as a test facility. We are very excited to finally get going with these CCUS project! Ikkaton CEO Erik Trampe has done an amazing job in setting up the method, and securing patents and funding – well done!
