Sermitsiaq – IKKA 2025
Greenland newspaper Sermitsiaq has published a new article about our Ikka project. This time, a coverage of the fieldwork in Ikka Fjord this summer and what we hope to achieve with the dataloggers we deployed on three ikaite columns. The goal is to have long-term monitoring of the seawater surrounding the columns to give us an idea of how much fluctuation we have in temperature and salinity of a year, and how this affects the ‘health’ of the ikaite columns. The fieldwork this summer was funded by Aage V. Jensens Fond in Denmark and the NAPA programme in Greenland under the Nordic Council of Ministers.
