Exactly 12.5 years ago I participated in the wedding of our friends Lene Düwel Andersen and Jens Andersen in Roskilde. As tradition has it in Denmark, when you have reached half way to the Silver wedding (25 years), you celebrate the Copper wedding anniversary (12.5 years). Just like the wedding, this was a fantastic party with excellent food and lots of music and singing. It even took place in the same building, the Roskilde sailing club at the harbour with perfect view to all the sailing boats and the viking ships from the museum. Lene and Jens met each when they were both part of the crew of the viking ship ‘Helge Ask’. However, it took them 7 years to figure out that they were perfect for each other :-). We are so happy for the happily married couple and look forward to celebrate their next anniversary in 12.5 years’ time!

My aunt Helma arrived from the Netherlands a few days later, and we took a tour to Roskilde. I wanted to show her the harbour and the viking ships. We had a nice cup of coffee and watched a continuously row of motor and sailing boats being lifted into the water. The sailing season is here.
